Understanding and acknowledging the social and economic impact of HIV and AIDS on the Company, its employees and the host communities, Wesizwe Platinum believes in a proactive and collaborative approach to managing the epidemic.
The Group is therefore currently reviewing its strategy in line with an expected increased number of employees joining the project during construction and mine development.
The Wesizwe Platinum HIV/AIDS Policy focuses on:
- Strengthening all efforts to prevent new HIV infections;
- Encouraging openness about the epidemic in an effort to eliminate stigma and discrimination against employees living with HIV and AIDS; and
- Developing and improving wellness programmes and healthcare structures within mining communities.
